OVERVIEW
EduSim is a Telegram mini-app built by Eightcap to teach crypto-financial literacy to unbanked individuals across emerging markets in Southeast Asia. The platform uses gamification — stars, rewards, challenges — to guide users through lessons on USDT, Bitcoin, and digital wallets.
I was brought on through Clusterit Studio to design the 3D icon set used throughout the app's gamification layer. Each icon needed to feel approachable and culturally neutral — trustworthy and educational, not crypto-native or tech-heavy.
THE BRIEF
The brief The RFP called for 8+ custom icons with a consistent look and feel — primarily for gamification elements like achievements, progress, and rewards. The design direction had to sit between playful and professional: engaging enough to motivate users, but sensible enough to feel trustworthy to someone new to crypto.
MY APPROACH
I designed the icon set to follow a natural growth metaphor — seeds, leaves, and sprouts representing progression, with coins, locks, and checkmarks anchoring the financial and reward states. Each object was modelled in Spline with soft lighting and rounded forms to feel warm and accessible rather than technical or abstract.
ICONS DELIVERED
Seed · Leaf · Plant progression (sprout in pot) · Play/video · Lock · Checkmark · Coin / Dollar · Spinning wheel
3D Models

Lesson Complete
Awarded when a user finishes a lesson module. The double checkmark signals progress saved and points earned.
Learning in Progress
Represents an active lesson. The growing plant signals forward momentum — each module completed is a step toward financial confidence.

Spinning Wheel
The prize wheel used in the mini-game challenge at the end of each topic. Spin to earn bonus USDT rewards.
USDT Reward
Represents the real crypto reward users earn upon completing the course. Grounded and familiar — a coin, not a token.

Starting Point
The seed represents where every user begins — a small step with big potential. Used in the onboarding and early lesson stages.
Locked Content
Indicates a lesson or reward not yet unlocked. Encourages progression through the learning journey.
